“Friendship improves happiness and abates misery, by the doubling of our joy and the dividing of our grief.”
-Marcus Tullius Cicero
We are two busy women, just like you, working to balance families, businesses, our mental health and so much more. We know what its like to feel like you can‘t possibly pick up one more thing, especially for yourself. We also know how important it is to take that time because pouring from an empty cup just doesn‘t work. We have seen first hand how caring for and investing in ourselves has led us to be better versions of ourselves to care for others. That is why we created Santosha Retreat, becuase we believe everyone should have a place where they feel supported and cared for. A place to explore and unwind. A place to be themselves and treat themselves. Let us care for you and help you fill your cup back up.
Peace + Love,
Heather & Janey
Hi, I’m Janey! Travel enthusiast, itinerary guru, coffee addict, connection-seeker and co-hostess of Santosha Retreat.
My favorite part about traveling on retreat is the connection it offers. Connection to new people and a new culture of an area. Connection to nature; and a deeper connection to myself and the things that matter most to me. I come home feeling grateful and content and ready to tackles life's challenges with new energy.
When I am not traveling, you'll find me taxiing my 2 awesome kiddos around to their activities, volunteering with their school, and planning new adventures!
Favorite book: Eat, Pray, Love (my Bible)
Favorite destinations: Costa Rica (people), Bali (culture), French Polynesia/ Yosemite (most beautiful)
As a yoga teacher for over 10 years, Heather understands the importance of a balanced and regulated nervous system. She loves nerding out over yoga philosophy and believes that yoga should be accessible to ALL humans. As a retreat leader her favorite thing is to help people learn how to recalibrate their nervous systems by providing opportunities for both rest and expansion. She enjoys the sense of community and deep friendships that retreats foster and loves creating the container for those connections to form. Heather loves to travel and explore new places. She also loves good books, live music and hot tea. She is a mom of 2 boys, three dogs and three frogs. When shes not leading retreats you can find her leading youth athletes in yoga, exploring nature, or having wild kitchen dance parties.
Favorite authors: Brene Brown & Jodi Picult
Favorite destination: Costa Rica

“To laugh often and love much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the beauty in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child., a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition, to know that one life has breathed easier because you have lived here. This is to have succeeded." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
